From Dow Jones to Dutch Jet Fuel
Hi! I’m Daniel. Born in the Nation’s Capital, I fused a Finance degree with a passion for planet, writing for what would become S&P Global as a NYMEX oil analyst, renewable energy researcher, and jet markets liason in Paris, London, and Rotterdam. Domestically I filed newswires thrice daily, attended hearings on Capitol Hill, test-drove electric vehicles (EVs), and penned lifecycle emissions comparisons of electricity-generation sources; abroad I helped build an online trading platform for European barge clients using the ICE.
Ahead of the Supply Curve
Drawing on digestible economic data, I’ve helped sustainably guide free-market adoption of clean energy solutions where profitable, rather than prescribed by policy. I highlight wins investors are scoring for both energy mix and environment; then identify where green tech is not as incentivized—or reliable—as traditional fuels and power generation. My investigative work was educating the demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure back in 2010—when skeptics were still equating EVs to flying cars.

“Daniel was one of our team of market reporters, covering the cut and thrust of commodity trading in international energy markets. These roles demand such a lot and it's never easy filling that kind of slot. However, Daniel is fast learn and a first class communicator. It was always a pleasure to work with him. I just remember this sense of 'Daniel's got it covered'. He's a great contributor to team meetings and collaboration, meaning just his presence and positive attitude makes the whole better. I miss that and I really hope I'll get a chance to work with Daniel again. Something tells me the universe has big things in mind of him.”

Listen to Stakeholders
And to us! As we speak to key figures in policy-making, market adoption, end-user perception, resource owners, and more. Here’s a short interview/podcast sample segment I did on spec for a ‘Politics and Markets in Entertainment’ magazine, to show them my facility with audio production, and the ability to head up such an outreach product.

My time at Third Coast Studios Magazine would serve as the prelude for going back to school for an Act II: I now work as a professional actor and producer in New York City while reentering journalism.
